Praise In the last half of the Prayer Experiment Journal, I want to teach you some of the stages of prayer. When we break it up into stages, we are able to be more consistent with our attention and our effectiveness. There are twelve stages. Spending 1-2 minutes in each enables you to have a 12-24 minute, attentive prayer. Spending up to 5 minutes in each stage will give you a solid hour! Matthew 6:12: “Forgive us our debts, as we have also forgiven our debtors.” I learned the longest word that I could possibly pronounce in 5th grade. It was “antidisestablishmentarianism.” What’s crazy is that it didn’t get underlined as a misspelled word in Microsoft Word just now! I googled (googled was underlined) the “longest word” and it came up as “pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanokoniosis” which means a lung disease caused by the inhalation of very fine silica dust, causing inflammation in the lungs. Christianity is just one of them.” “There is no God.” I’m sure that you’ve heard them. I’ve heard them. The enemy’s greatest weapon is a…read more

I used to look away during gore and violence in movies a lot more than I do now. There’s this crazy scene in The Patriot with Mel Gibson that a canon ball takes a guy’s head off. I even rewound it several times just to see it again. In Saving Private Ryan this guy gets his arm blown off and bends over and picks it up and walks off with it. How is it that that doesn’t make me sick? Because I’ve watched so much blood and gore over the…read more

Bread- Matthew 6:11 “Give us today our daily bread” The truth is that this fourth petition almost feels like we’ve moved from the godly to the daily and mundane. Not so- we humans are material creatures and cannot enter into and enjoy fulfillment of the first three petitions without bread. Bread is the staple of life and represents all our bodily needs. “The Father’s will is that his name be made manifest to flesh and blood men and women, not just to angels. The Father’s will is that his kingdom be…read more
